Un'altra fotografia rossa

I don't know WHY when I did my red picture this morning I didn't think of putting one of my new car on. Oh well, here it is now!

Rosso!

I know I took this picture in March, but I couldn't resist posting it.

And now, here are some more recent "red" pictures; from this morning in fact:

It would seem that fall is on its way!

Verde

A Modern Liberal Artist sort of post

Those of you who think that this is just the corner of my bedroom are partially right; however, it is more than that. It is a representation of the classes of Americans: rich, poor, and sort-of-rich. Did you notice that the sections are all the same color paint? Yet they are different shades!! This shows they are equals in an unequal world. The largest section, the darkest one, is the poor. They are the most numerous, and yet they are not in control (this is shown by how they are the lowest)!! Weird, huh? Oh, and this also represents the Solar System, and the way it all just works together....

Giallo!

I had a bit of a difficult time deciding on a picture for "Yellow Monday." Just the perfectionist coming out in me, I guess. I tried doing yellow things.....

.....and I tried yellow flowers.....

.....and I finally decided on this picture:

Big News!!!

We set up....a Pingpong table today!!!!!!! Cara, Ryan, and I cleared out one of the bays in our three-car garage, and now we basically have our own little game, uh, cubicle! (It's not exactly a game room, since it is, after all, in the garage.) We have played a lot in there today, and we've been having a BLAST!!! Unfortunately, clearing out the third bay in the garage involved moving a great deal of lumber into the second, and that will need to be cleared out eventually. Ah, well. At least we have one more bay! Just kidding. I mean, we DO have one more bay, but we will probably not play another game of musical garages (or would it be hot lumber?) with it.

Happy Sabbath to all!
(Assuming you read this before sundown. If not, then good night, or good day, or whatever.)

Video: The Phantom

Rated PG-13 for violence, thematic elements, and quirky situations. (JK)

This was one of my first home movies ever. I think Ben and I made it about 1.5 to 2 years ago.

You can see it in Windows Media Player by clicking here.

A Fair and Balanced Report

New Hampshire is the nicest place in the world. I can say this because I've been to Europe, and New Hampshire is nicer. So there. I hope I never have to live anywhere else. Sometimes in the middle of summer I think it might be nice in Alaska, and occassionally in the winter Florida sounds tempting; but come spring, late summer, or autumn and all disloyal feelings are instantly banished to the farthest corners of my brain, where they lurk until the next bout of extremes comes up. Even in the winter, as long as the roads and the pond are clear of snow and slush, I am quite content. Skating is a great sport, and so is sledding. You can't do those in Florida. New Hampshire is nicer.

My, how I enjoy this August weather! The humidity is down, the breezes are up, and though the days are still warm, the nights are brisk. Ahhh, this is how summer was meant to be! Right now, the forecast is for mid-seventy to low-eighty degree weather in the next couple days, with plenty of sunshine. Nights are expected to be in the fifties or sixties. Just how I like them!

Florida's weather forecast is similar, but it's 20 degrees higher both night and day, with humidity about 25% higher, and...thunderstorms! That means rain! Hahahaha! Poor them. We get isolated evening t-storms tonight, but they get them for DAYS and DAYS while we bask in the northern sun.

In case you think that New Hampshire is only sometimes nice this time of year, here's some evidence for me to shove in your face: I felt the same way last year! See?

This report concludes that New Hampshire is the nicest place in the world because it is definitely nicer than both Florida and Europe, and everyone who knows ANYTHING knows that those places are some of the world's runners-up. I mean, people go to Florida because it's warm, and to Europe because it's romantic. Logically speaking, if people go to Florida and Europe all the time of their own free will (by the way, New Hampshire is also the best place in the world as far as freedom is concerned; just check out our state motto!), Florida and Europe must be very nice. And if Florida and Europe are better than almost everywhere else, and New Hampshire is better than them (as I have shown in a report that is completely free from bias), it follows that the Granite State is the nicest place on earth.

Case closed.

Woe and Misery

You know how I couldn't find my camera for, like, forever? And you know how I just, like, found it? Well, yesterday I, like, broke it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH!

As I was holding my dear little Exily (since Lisa named her camera, I figured I might as well name my own) in my right hand, I reached up with my left and somehow my pinky finger caught on the camera strap that is supposed to be for safety, and my camera FLEW into the air and landed on our hard, hard, hardwood floors with a loud smack. I picked it up and checked it for damage, and although it still takes pictures, the zoom sticks whichever way I use it and the "SET/OK" button doesn't work at all.

SO, tomorrow or sometime later I am going to send dear little Exily down to New Jersey, where the Casio family hospital is. I hope very strongly that the company will cover it under the one-year warranty (I bought the camera in Feb.). Pray that it does! Pleeeeeeease!!!

On a happier note, these past couple days I enjoyed a "Shakespeare Movie Weekend" with Bria, Ryan, and Kate A, a weekend which was majorly interrupted by a daysail on the Atlantic Ocean! Daddy, Craig, and Paul S. of MCA came with us (or rather, we went with them) as we sailed up the coast of Maine from Portsmouth Harbor to the Cape Neddick lighthouse (see picture, which I did not take due to Exily's exile). We had a jolly time: the sun was warm, the breeze was stiff, and the friends were charming as always.

Movie quote of the day:

Optimist: There; aren't you glad, glad, glad?

Sad one (me): No, I'm still sad, sad, sad. I miss Fern Exily.

A Written Post

As I was looking over my recent posts, I just realized that I have not posted anything that I wrote in quite some time. In addition, the last one was a joke, created exclusively to test the limits of others' gullibility. (As well as the limits of my own creativity and research ability; I think I did more concentrated research for that post than for my research report.)

Speaking of research reports, I never finished the one I was supposed to last year, and I have been working on it this summer. I was never able to decide on a topic, so Mama assigned one to me: Atlantis. Some of you may have thought Atlantis was just a myth with no basis in history. Well, I have news for you: you might be right, and you are not alone. However, there are many who hold firm beliefs to the contrary. I have been pretty amazed by the number of theories people have come up with for the location of the legendary lost civilization. The most common theory I have come across is that the Atlantean civilization is the same as the Minoan, and that Atlantis was destroyed by a volcano. Some believe that it was located on some other Mediterranean island such as Malta or Cyprus, or that it was Greece itself. Still others believe - with great confidence, by the way - that Atlantis was on a now-destroyed Atlantic continent, South America, Antarctica, the North Sea (now submerged), Carribean islands, Indonesia, Palestine, outer space, or a former continent in the Indian Ocean (a continent which was smashed by a collision between the earth and one of its two moons, only one of which still remains). Interesting, huh?

Here I was going to jokingly say that I thought Atlantis was REALLY in some bizarre, ridiculous, exotic place, but all the most ridiculous have already been taken. Too bad for me.

Note to the masses:
By the way, I am still missing my digital camera, last seen on the morning I left for the family convention. I cannot guarantee it is at Fairwood, but I can't find it at home. So in case you do see it at Fairwood, it is a 6.0 mp Casio Exilim EX-Z110. Thanks.
